Cost Engineer

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized cost engineer to join us on a large project. In this role, you’ll be responsible for all things cost-related, from the preparation phase (creating budgets) to the execution phase (controlling expenses) and even the final closure of the project (handling claims and verifying payments).

To be considered for this position, you should have a college education in accounting or a related field, as well as at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Proficiency in database programs and strong English speaking and writing skills are a must. If you’re also a good team player with strong communication skills and with an affinity for the process industry, we’ll be a great match!

In short:

  • Manage all cost-related issues throughout the project
  • Report directly to the Turnaround/Project Manager
  • Create and maintain cost budgets
  • Control expenses and report cost deviations
  • Handle financial control of invoices, additional work, and claims
  • Ensure payments are distributed correctly to suppliers and contractors
  • Partially responsible for closing the project and handling all claims
  • Contribute to final project report to share experiences for future projects
